Richard A. Fregosa "Uncle Richie"
Richard Fregosa is the Principal and Founder of Fregosa Design. Founded in June of 2000 and based in the San Francisco Bay / Silicon Valley Area, serving clients world-wide. A 28 year custom electronics veteran, his career has spanned operating as an electronic systems integrator, controls systems programmer, and consultant. "Uncle Richie' is known globally in the industry as a diligent and detail-focused project manager, cutting-edge digital architect and automation guru.
An acknowledged industry expert, Richard honed his technical and artistic skills studying Film and Video at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts. He brings with him well over two decades of experience in systems design and custom software development, as well as extensive system design work in the areas of audio/visual, lighting, motorization, security and surveillance and whole house system integration.
Prior to founding Fregosa Design, Mr. Fregosa was also a Principal at Axiom Design, the nation's first residential low voltage custom electronics specification firm. His responsibilities included the creation and development of Axiom's contract programming services and later became the company's first CTO.
Well respected in the electronics industry and sought after by clients for his unique skills, Richard is acclaimed for his ability to create and implement solutions for seemingly "impossible" situations. These talents have allowed him to be involved in very challenging and prestigious residential and commercial projects across several continents.
His career's work has taken him everywhere from sophisticated silicon valley estates to high tech boardrooms to even the White House.
Along with his writing contributions to industry publications such as CEPro Magazine and Electronic House Magazine, Richard also currently serves as the "Residential Systems Expert" on AVNation's AVWeek podcast as well as AVNation's "A State of Control" podcast that focuses solely on the Commercial and Residential Automation Industry.
